Sound of paper: Activities Four and Five

on January 8, 2014

I’m currently working with the book ‘The Sound of Paper’ written by Julia Cameron (the same author as ‘The Artist’s Way’) in the hope it will get me enjoying writing again and provide me some inspiration, the guidelines are- to do morning pages everyday (three pages ideally when you first wake up like a stream of conciousness), two or three 20 minutes walk a week and one hour walk a well, and also take yourself on ‘Artist Dates’ once a week. There is lots of little exercises throughout I have been sharing.

Yesterday was one I didn’t do on here as I didn’t have the time to go on the computer, but I had to make a like a life satisfaction chart rating different areas of my life on how satisfied I am, no surprise really, my work life was the lowest and all the rest were either medium or high. I then had to pick one of the low things and write ten things I could do about. Mine obviously had to be work, so mostly it was just about applying for jobs, and making my outside life really amazing to balance it out!!!

Today’s activity is ‘Attention’ and I need to write a clear portrait of myself in the third person.

Hayley is a mostly happy and content twenty nine year old with shoulder length auburn hair and blue eyes. She wears glasses, as she is short sighted. She lives with her husband Miguel and two cats Roxie and Mitzi, in an upstairs two bedroom flat, but the second bedroom is a healing room. She works at a pharmacy but that doesn’t define her in the slightest, it’s just a way to pay the rent. She is a very spiritual person, she is an eclectic witch and faery shaman. She does faery healing and readings, but generally she loves anything of a spiritual nature. She is also vegan and a strong feminist. She is a writer although she doesn’t always feel like one. She runs an Earth healing group and is quite active in various groups and social events. She is quite shy especially when she first meets people, but once she gets to know someone well, she will care deeply about them. She loves to spend time with those close to her and feels sad when she doesn’t see anyone for a while.
