End Of Goddess Project Week One: A Week of Wisdom

on August 7, 2015

So it’s the end of Week One of my Goddess project

In my first week I have been working with the Goddess of Wisdom, Sophia. She wasn’t an easy Goddess to follow and work with for this month as wisdom is quite a wide topic that can be hard to measure. She also doesn’t have a specific tradition, as throughout history there are stories of her in many traditions, she is even mentioned in the bible.

Through the week I prayed to her everyday, and I did several journeys to her, as this seemed to be the easiest way to connect with her. I’m not sure I felt “wiser” but in my journeys and in the channelling I received through her, she gave me lots to ponder.

On the first day, I simply found what I could about her. On the second day, I started my prayers to her. On day 3 I had my first journey and also channelled her through writing, you can read what I wrote on my previous blog post

On day 4 I watched a short video about her on YouTube, which was from the Gnostic perspective, this is it:

On days 5 and 6 I journeyed to her and here is the information I got:

on Day 5 (Wednesday): I asked how I can connect with her more and she said she just keep praying and journeying. I asked how to connect with my own inner wisdom. She said to remember it comes from the heart and not the head, so always listen to the heart. I asked where she is from and she said “Everywhere” because wisdom can’t come from one place or one religion, it’s combination of them all.

I asked if she is the Divine Spark within us all, and she said yes, we have every aspect of the divine within us but we all need to realise this as a lot of people still don’t make the connection between divinity and themselves. She said that realising we’re all part of the divine is not about arrogance or thinking we are above anybody else, it’s about humility, respecting your body and your mind/spirit, not keeping toxic people in our lives, connecting with nature and the natural world more, More people are gradually waking up to this and living life in this way and only when we are all eventually learn to treat ourselves as part of the divine, will the world change for the better. It will be a difficult change to begin with, but ultimately one for the better.

Day 6 (Thursday): Sophia held my hands and we both closed our eyes. I could feel energy going through me. She then old me this is a way of feeling the divine spark within others. She told me holding hands is a very powerful act and is actually more intimate and powerful than kissing. That it’s good for friends to do as well as lovers. It can express a lot in such a simple gesture. It’s a very powerful tool for connection. I asked why she was telling me this and she told me because wisdom is not complicated, wisdom is simplicity.

So overall, it’s been a very interesting experience working and learning about Sophia. I have learnt a lot about what wisdom actually is, and also about connection. I will be testing out the holding hands theory in my women’s circle by starting and ending with a few minutes of the circle holding hands and see how this makes us feel.

I’m looking forward to seeing which Goddess I will be working with from tomorrow!!
