Radar Love- July 2016

Wow, this year is going to fast, can’t believe we are in August already! (and the sky outside today isn’t convincing me either) So time for another update of what I’ve been up to, July was a good month. But first how I did with my goals and intentions for the year..

KNOWLEDGE- since I got the nature finder app during 30 Days wild in June, I’ve been identifying wildlife and flowers regularly, I love it!

HEALTH- not been so good this month, as I started working in Rayleigh in July, I can’t walk to work anymore. I’ve done a few walks but not as much.

MAGIC- nothing specific I can think of

SELF CARE- I’m adapting to full time hours again, so haven’t been always been keeping to plans I’ve made because of tiredness.

To heighten my spiritual work- had one client, and also did some free readings on our business page on the full moon as it’s good practice.

To get to Peru- not there yet!

To honour the seasons and the moon- did usual new moon and full moon things. Lammas is today but I went to a ritual for it on Saturday.

To cook more- still haven’t!

go to Yoga classes- didn’t go to any in July, my work hours at the moment haven’t allowed me to 😦

walk more often- got less as mentioned before

not to be affected by other people’s stories- been ok with this I think

have no expectations- mostly ok with this too

manifestation skills- started my promotion a week earlier than planned!

WHAT I GOT UP TO

I had a belated birthday party as a lot of people couldn’t come on my actual birthday and Migs was away that weekend. I had a rainbow/80’s theme, there was only a few of us but it was really fun, we did 80s karaoke!  We were all completely sober too, lol!

I went to a Southend Vegans (a facebook group I’m on) meet up at The Railway Hotel, met some lovely new people but also knew a lot of people there too and everyone was super nice.

Started my job at Rayleigh a week earlier than planned as they were so desperate for staff! So it was all very sudden! I had to move a few plans about, as I now work Saturdays instead of Sundays.

I had a leaving drinks meet up (a week after I left because of all the sudden-ness of it) It was a fun night

I had my circle but as I had to move the day, there was only two of us. It was still nice though as we went to Priory Park and the theme was nature. It was a really warm day too.

I went to a poetry day at a community allotment my friend Fiona is involved with. It was another beautiful day spent with friends and nature.

I went to a Lammas ritual hosted by members of the local pagan moot I occasionally attend.

Busier month and I’m excited about this month too- got a fire ceremony tonight, away at the weekend, wedding anniversary coming up and other fun things too- yay 🙂

POEMS

my poems everyday for a year thing isn’t going great, I didn’t write any I was happy with or even bits of poems last month but I think I had a few this month so will put them here..haven’t felt inspired by the prompts lately.

Poem 1- Apology

I’d like to apologise on behalf of the human race

That we’re destroying the planet at an incredible pace

I’m so sorry for all the trees chopped down

All the pollution gives me a frown

I’m so sorry that there is animal abuse

and I’m sorry people’s ethics are so loose

I’d like to apologise on behalf of the human race

before the world disappears without a trace…

Poem 2- Reasons to be happy (unfinished)

Because the sun is shining today

because ultimately it will all be okay

Because worrying is a waste of time

Because I’m making the effort to make this rhyme

Because the birds are singing a beautiful song

Because it’s better than focusing on what’s wrong..

Poem 3 (unfinished)

Why are you alone?

Do you wish to be on your own?

Or are you lonely, staring out to sea?

I’m here contemplating life’s journey

Shall I row on or shall I stop and admire the view?

Poem 4

She fell into a forest
Head first, into the trees
for miles she could see
an everlasting trail
of what could ever be
fragile existence of life
untouched yet disturbed
by humanity’s deep disgrace
a truth we must learn to face
by looking within
only then will we know our deepest sin

dancing barefoot..May 2016

Time for another month completion post, this year is sure passing by quickly!

FOCUS AND INTENTIONS UPDATE

KNOWLEDGE (focus on nature)- nothing specific really

HEALTH- been overall healthy I think

MAGIC- still haven’t done much focus on this

SELF CARE- resting when I need to still, and also booked and went for my smear test, as last time I kept forgetting to book it.

To heighten my spiritual work- no clients for the month, have been promoting my upcoming Goddess workshop as much as possible.

To get to Peru- still a long way off (for now)

To honour the seasons and moon- In addition to the full moon and new moon, there was Beltane, but I didn’t really do anything special for it sadly

To cook more- still nope

go to Yoga classes-only got to one during May 😦 holiday, work etc all got in the way.

walk more often- been walking every day to work still

not to be affected by other people’s stories- thinking I’m starting to get the hang of this more 🙂

have no expectations- need to work on this a bit more

manifestation skills- still lots of reading, meditation etc

WHAT I GOT UP TO

Went on Holiday! We went to Holland for four days. It was great, it deserved it’s own blog post, which you can read here

Went to a play (well not really a play but not sure how else to describe it) with my friend Fiona called ‘Three Acres and a Cow‘ it was a history of land activism told through storytelling, poetry and folk music. It was very interesting and I learnt lots.

I had my circle which in May was on the theme of ‘Desire’ it was another small but lovely one 🙂

It ended with a night in with my friend Fiona watching a documentary called ‘Girl Rising‘ about girls over the world who overcome great challenges to gain an education. Available on Netflix if you have it

so still working quite a bit but at least I had a holiday! Things calming down a bit work wise and lots of social things coming up so June looks to be a good one 🙂

POETRY- here’s any poems/bits of poems I managed for the #shewritespoetry2016 challenge! (writing a poem every day this year using a book of prompts) at some point I’ll make time to work on them further, finish some and give some of the prompts another go.

Poem 1

The daffodil hill

is better than any pill

to make me smile

even when I feel bottom of the pile

the sight of a tulip is my top tip

for a floral lift

when you’ve had a rift

a bluebell

always makes me feel well

a snowdrop

makes me want to hop

(unfinished)

Poem 2

Acceptance is beauty

life is fine

when you’re sea calm

we all have dream variations

some of us will see the snake and some of us will see a bouquet

listen to that jukebox love song

don’t be afraid of a cultural exchange

be open to what’s in front of you

listen with your heart not your head

be who you want to be

and live the life you dreamed.

poem 3

Awake

Believing

Consuming

Dreams

Enveloping

Fascinating

Growing

Holding

In your Mind

Just

Keep

Loving

More

Never be afraid to

Open your heart

Pay attention

Quell those fears

Remember who you are

Swim against the tides

Undo the pain you once felt

Very releasing

When you learn to let go

X Ray your soul

You are beautiful

now it’s time to dream…zzzzz

Poem 4

Fade into light

second sight

delving into night.

Poem 5

The willow tree is slowly waving to the rhythm of the wind

Children walk past undoing their school ties

then piling onto buses

the sky is still light but there’s a sense of the day coming to an end

clock watching at work is driving you round the bend

a good time for a cup of tea

look out the window at those going past

and wonder when hometime will arrive at last

(unfinished- I think)!

Spirit Will Always Follow (Holland 2016)

Wherever you are
Spirit will always follow
What ever you do
Spirit will always follow
As you walk
Spirit will walk with you
If you run
Spirit will run alongside you
If you fall
Spirit will pick you up
If you cry
Spirit will wipe your tears
When you smile
Spirit will add that extra sparkle
when you laugh
Spirit will laugh with you
When you pray
whether it’s in a church or a forest
Spirit will listen
Spirit will guide
Spirit will show you the way
You just have to open your heart and allow her in
It’s not always easy
but it’s always possible
if you trust
it’ll all be all right in the end
a rainbow will appear
from the dark clouds
spirit will take care of you
if you also take care of yourself
Spirit will always follow
wherever you are
whatever you do
Spirit will always follow.

This poem is inspired by our recent trip to Holland. Let me explain why..

When you live a spiritual life, your eyes are always open to signs and divinity in everyday life. Before I went away I felt I couldn’t bring any of my spiritual items such as my spiritual journal, oracle cards etc, even though I usually do try to keep up my spiritual routine to some extent. This time I thought perhaps I felt like this because I needed to take a break. It became clear in less than 24 hours after landing that this wouldn’t be the case.

The first night we stayed with my in laws, near Assen, a more country side area of the country. They are highly spiritual people so there was always going to be some element of it while we stayed with them. There was a lot very deep talking and clearing, which was mostly connected with my husband. But also they gave us both some very beautiful gifts, which were spiritually minded items so we ended up having spiritual ‘stuff’ anyway! It was on this day that I suddenly made the connection that I had been getting a lot of signs about unicorns, which had been topped off when they gave me a book about unicorns. I had an unicorn healing attunement quite some time ago now, and although I worked with it a little after that, I didn’t continue to do any more. Before we went away there had been connections with unicorns coming up, and it just kept coming, and it still is! On the day I got the book I read a small bit of the book that talked about unicorn signs, and how it’s a sign for you to work with them, so I have been working quite intensely with them since we got back. We also had a beautiful moment there when we went for a walk to the nearby pond and were delighted with seeing a coot and her babies!  What a divine moment!

DSC_0022

On day two, it was mostly travelling to The Hague where we were staying for the rest of our break and relaxing. We saw another beautiful area- the Palace Gardens.

DSC_0036.JPG

Day 3 was the best day! Miguel showed me where he used to live and then we went to Zuiderpark which was absolutely huge and beautiful. But before we even saw much of it there is a city farm there which Miguel used to go to as a child and I fell in love. It wasn’t a regular farm, no meat or dairy produced, but a free educational farm where children can go to learn about nature, taking care of animals and having respect for living beings. You could buy a cup of food to feed the animals so we had lots of fun feeding them, especially the cheeky goats who would practically jump over the gate! We then went into the main enclosure, where I cuddled a beautiful gentle one eyed cow and stroked lots of lambs, sheep, pigs and of course goats! I honestly feel so happy being around animals I had trouble being pulled away and I had tears in my eyes feeling emotional!

Afterwards we had a look at some more of the park, and Miguel showed me a special tree where his granddad used to tell him gnomes lived.

DSC_0107

We went back to the area near the hotel to have lunch and next door to our hotel was the church where Miguel’s parents got married, so we decided to go inside. I wasn’t sure how I would feel, as a pagan, I can feel a bit uncomfortable but actually when we walked in, it was beautiful and there people inside praying and I only felt calm. We both sat down and made a prayer ourselves. Then we saw a section where you could light a candle offering in front of a choice of saints/important Christian figures. Even though we both didn’t know anything about him, we both felt compelled to make an offering to St.Anthony. Before we left we cleansed our hands with holy water. When we left we looked up St.Anthony who turns out to have a strong connection with Portugal (which is important to Miguel as he is half Portuguese) but also is connected with animals and the vulnerable, which I felt was relevant to me and connected a lot to the prayer I had made!

DSC_0115

We also went into a shop with all Navajo and Hopi tribe items and then in the afternoon decided to go to the coast. The weather had been a mix of rain and sun, it was fine when we left but sadly turned when we got there, it was so windy and wet we didn’t stay as long as we had hoped. I wanted to go near the water and the wind was so bad, it was like we were getting blown away! But I got near a puddle, put my hand in it and felt energy run all through me.

So on that day we were in touch with all the elements- Earth- the park and trees there, fire- candles in church, water- the sea, air- the massive wind at the coast and Spirit- praying in a church.

Sunday was our last day, we went to see some of Miguel’s friends in Haarlem, then had a stop in Amsterdam which was mostly disappointing as was so busy and not much to look at, but we visited the Kuan Yin shrine again, which was still wonderful. We both made prayers there as well, made offerings to Kuan Yin and read a long prayer they had printed to use as well.

20160515_140239

Although short, was my favourite trip to Holland yet. No plans to be spiritual particularly, but Spirit will always follow…

Unstoppable Today- February 2016

Wow month two of the year over already! There was more of the same for me, as my overtime in Rayleigh is still ongoing, as it looks like the manager is going to be off for a bit longer than expected.

My Focus and Intentions Update

KNOWLEDGE- I’ve been walking to work almost every day, and I usually walk along the brook so I’ve been watching the wildlife around me, and learning the names of birds that I might not have seen before. I’ve started seeing grey wagtails every day, they are so cute, how they hop around in the shallow water!

HEALTH- as I just mentioned I’ve been walking to work almost every day!

MAGIC- didn’t do much of this one.

SELF CARE- I am training myself to be more positive especially when it comes to financial matters. I also took part in a self love tarot challenge on Instagram which was really helpful as gave lots of thought provoking questions to work on. I’ve also booked my next dentist appointment which is a few months overdue.

To learn more about nature- see Knowledge.

To heighten my spiritual work- none as yet as I still haven’t had a lot of time to promote it much but I did start planning in dates for some workshops I want to do this year. (to teach)

To get to Peru- nothing towards this yet

To honour the seasons and moon more fully- there was Imbolc, which I did try to celebrate more fully but I planned too much and life got in the way, so my plans for that have been a bit more spread out than on just one day, but hopefully it will all be doing before Spring Equinox! On the full moon, I took part in Miranda Gray’s Womb Blessing, and I also did a reading for myself and put our crystals out. On the new moon before that, I did a reading also.

to cook more- I got cooked a couple of times but with all the work I’ve been doing it’s been not on top of my list.

go to Yoga classes- I went to two, as because of overtime I couldn’t go every week this month sadly.

walk more often- I’ve walked pretty much every day!

Take better self care- see earlier in post

not to be affected by other people’s stories- getting better but still a lot of work to do

have no expectations- have been doing this, and it does make you feel much better!

manifestation skills- been reading lots of info about this, and also finally read “The Secret” which is very helpful!

What else I have been doing-

I went to the ‘Holland and Barrett Hall of Fame’ competition, I had to go to London for the day and take part in games like a Holland and barrett themed Mastermind and things like that. Some people will get picked to go through to the next stage, and then an associate, a manager and a supervisor will all win a chance to go to Las Vegas. I should find out if I got through soon, but I doubt it, as I struggled with some of the games on the day so my knowledge let me down I think! This was an occasion when the ‘no expectations’ thing worked, as I was quite nervous about going to begin with as I usually hate stuff like that, and especially when my colleague backed out at the last minute so I had to go on my own. So I decided just not to worry, to just go with the flow and enjoy the chance to be away from work! In the end I knew someone else there anyway, and I even spoke quite easily to quite a few other people there and although some of the games were quite hard, on the whole I ended up quite enjoying it!

Miguel and I went to a Buddhist Chinese New Year celebration at the Buddhist temple that I do my Yoga at. It was very interesting and an unique experience. It was called a Dharma rite, which included a lot of chanting, and we could light candles for others. It was very beautiful.

For Valentines we went had a yummy lunch at The Railway Hotel.

I went to visit my mum and brother.

I had my circle meet up which was wonderful again! I had lots of new people this time, and had 8 people turn up! There was lots of very deep sharing and new friendships made. We had the theme of Psychic Abilities, and we played a fun game where we had to guess who’s object was who’s. We all did very well!

So overall mostly working again! In March, there will still be a lot of work and I’m likely to be running Rayleigh for a whole week! I also have a week off at the end though and Miguel has some projects coming up. I’m running a meditation workshop at the EDEN conference this month too.

November 2015

I quietened things down a little in November…but that didn’t stop me still having adventures!

I did another photo project on Instagram called ‘Crystal Allies November’ which was a really lovely one. If you’re on Instagram, you can find me there as moonlight.phoenix I haven’t found any for December so it probably won’t be quite so active, but I do taking photos so I’m sure there will still be fairly regular updates!

here’s how November went in term of my goals for the year…

FRIENDSHIP- didn’t see people quite as often this month, but the times I did were lovely.

FUN- I had fun at Witchfest, doing laughter yoga!

CREATIVITY AND INSPIRATION- more photography BUT I did also take part in a creative writing workshop, and I’ve got a few other pieces to work on, and I did create this poem

and this is how the first month of my new intentions from Samhain 2015- to Samhain 2016 has went-

To Learn more about nature- I’ve been for a few lovely walks, and have got people to help me learn the names of some of the birds I’ve taken photos of

To heighten my spiritual ‘work’- no work sadly, but did promote a few times via Facebook, and did a swap with my friend who said she will tell others

To get to Peru- well I got the time off okayed from work, so that’s a start!

To honour the full moon and seasons more fully- I did a full ritual for the first time in a while for the full moon and have started doing readings for myself on the new moon.

and finally what I actually got up to!

I went to the Inspiring Women meeting as always, and it was our 2nd birthday so it was a fun one (well not that isn’t usually!) this time we played a game where we had to go round each person and first introduce ourselves as if we had never met as we are now, then we had to do it again but this time us in five years time. I wasn’t sure what to say different the second time apart from a few things, but by the time I had completed the circle, I had somehow earnt myself a healing retreat!

I did my first stint as a trained supervisor! I had to run the Rayleigh store for a day and despite my nerves it went really well. I also had to close there on another day that week but that time the whole system went down so not one of our stores could ‘officially’ close the store! Funny enough, that was Friday 13th.

I went to the second of the new Southend Essex Feminist Collective meetings, and it was really good. There were speakers from a few of the local domestic abuse services and a local Rape Crisis. It was pretty grim in terms of the severe lack of funding they get, and also the very real lack of convictions also.

I went to Witchfest, which was worthy of a blog of it’s own, which you can find here

I did a healing for my friend who did me reiki last month, and it went very well.

I met up with my friend Lauren for lunch, where we despaired the lack of quick and easy vegan lunch options in town. We ended up getting the last 2 vegan items in Boots, and mine although nice was very minimal and left me feeling still hungry. (it was a salad)

I did the creative writing workshop which was really good, we did different types of writing, and weren’t made to feel under pressure and we didn’t have to read them all out. There was only one exercise I didn’t write anything worthwhile, but the rest will be good I think. There was then an open mic night in the evening by the same people, so I read a few poems there. If you don’t already know of Sundown Arts, then you really should check them out

Then finally, yesterday was my circle, which this time was on the theme of career/jobs and was lovely as always.

Witchfest 2015

This year was my third time attending Witchfest, an annual event that takes place at Fairfield Halls in Croydon and is essentially a celebration of all things witchy! There are workshops, talks, lots of stalls and music in the evening. This is how my 3rd year of attendance went..

I like to get to Croydon as early as I can, as the main joy of the event for me is taking part in the workshops and I don’t want to miss anything! So I was on a train around 7.30am to aim to get to the venue for about 10. After getting slightly confused at London Bridge, and then forgetting what direction Fairfield Halls was in, it was almost 10.30 by the time I got there, but as always there was a queue to get in. Usually there is entertainment while you are queueing, this year they had drummers, but unfortunately I must have missed them as there wasn’t any while I was outside, trying to keep dry as it was a very rainy day. I wasn’t going to let the rain or being late get in my way though!

I was a bit too late to watch the opening ritual and I wasn’t interested in either of the 11am talks, so I took the opportunity to have a look around the stalls and have something to eat, as I had a lot packed in for the rest of the day. Somehow it didn’t feel there was as much choice with stalls this year even though they took the amount of space. (so I’m not sure why it felt like that). I did however buy a few crystals from the Geofossils stall which I love and usually buy something from every year. This year I got a garnet, tangerine quartz and yellow calcite.

The first workshop I took part in was a completely new experience for me- Laughter Yoga! (with a lady called Heike) I didn’t really know what to expect but I really wanted to give it a go. Well it was mad, and also hilarious! Activities included talking gibberish to each other and a lot of ‘pretending’ (riding a broom, housework and picking herbs for example) all the time laughing, and although maybe you were fake laughing to begin with, soon it all got so silly you found yourself REALLY laughing and soon EVERYONE was laughing. At times it really pushed me out of my comfort zone, but ultimately it left me with a smile on my face. If you’re looking for traditional yoga exercises, this was not it, but it did feel like good exercise too!

Then it was straight onto another workshop, ‘Faery Moon Magic’ with Flavia Kate Peters.

I had also been to her talk on ‘Faery Witchcraft’ last year which I really enjoyed and I always enjoy her work in FAE magazine. This talk focused a lot more on the Moon rather than the fae. Flavia spoke about how what starsign the moon is in at the time is also important to work with. At the time of the talk she told us the moon was just coming out of Capricorn and going into Sagittarius. She also spoke about items you can put on your altar. We also did a brief visualisation to bring more loving energy into our lives and there was a faery land journey at the end of the session too. There was a lot of info similar to the talk from last year, but also some new information and Flavia has such a lovely energy that you can’t help but be enchanted. I really wanted to speak to her, and I could have done as she had a stall, but I was too nervous! Maybe next year.

Then it was Bam! and onto the next workshop. Another practical one, I chose to try ‘Movement Meditation’ with Raegan Shanti.

To begin with, she gave us a brief rundown of herself (a dancer and an eclectic pagan like myself) and how she discovered movement meditation, and how to do it. The basic premise was this- she would lead us into a guided meditation but rather than sitting static (unless we wanted to), we would respond to her words with movement- however we felt. Then after a brief leading in, we were told to just move our bodies how we felt we needed to. Afterwards she took some questions from a few people and some people spoke about how they found the meditation. Everyone really got something out of it I felt. What was amazing too, that someone with limited mobility also gained out of it, as Raegan had said that if you can’t move, you can see yourself doing the movement you would want to do on the astral plane rather than physically doing it. This lady said that this felt really liberating for her, as doing it in this year made her feel she was actually doing it, and felt very freeing. I felt really peaceful afterwards and did really enjoy it, I think using it for magical work would be quite interesting.

I had planned to go to another talk after this, but I was feeling a bit tired so decided to take some more time out and look around some more. I wanted to bring Miguel a present home, so I got him some White Sage and a little bear made out of Sunstone.

Next up was what turned out to be my favourite workshop of the day, ‘Walking with the Ancestors’ with Barbara Meiklejohn-Free

I was gutted I didn’t go to her talk last year so I made a point of going this year and I wasn’t disappointed. It was another practical workshop, as although she spoke a bit about the ancestors and how important it is to honour them, she then led us into a ritual to honour them. As part of the ritual we received names of ancestors (although I didn’t pick up any myself) and the people who did had to stand up and say ‘I honour….” all at the same time with pride. There was definitely a shift in energy after that. Barbara is also a medium and she said how she could see all the ancestors with us from all sorts of traditions. Even though not intentionally, she started picking up a few messages, and one of them made a lady behind me cry. I was of course hoping I would get something too but I didn’t, but I did feel my nan was there. We did a journey where we saw flashes of all our ancestors past and future. We forgave all those that have ever hurt us in all our lives. I didn’t really know why but I did feel very emotional. We also asked one of our ancestors to be our ancestral guide. I know mine is there (it’s making me feel emotional again just thinking about it now). She cheered everyone up again afterwards by ending the session saying how we all should be who we are and shine bright. I left feeling emotional but also uplifted.

Next up is another person I had seen before (I’m not sure what pronoun she prefers so apologises if I am using the wrong one) Yvonne Aburrow

I saw her before at the Pagan Conference talking about gender and sexuality in witchcraft which was fascinating, so I was interested to hear about ‘Practical Inclusive Wicca’. I thought it was going to be just talking so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be another practical workshop, she demonstrated techniques we could try to be more inclusive to ALL in rituals (all sexualities, all genders, all races etc etc) We did thinsg like sending energy around the circle and also a different way of calling in the divine- rather than the straightforward Cis Female and Cis Male. We tried it by dividing us up into those who love and hate marmite! We also did a chakra colour visualisation and called in the elements by visualising. (depending where you were in the room, then changing to the next element). A lot of it probably more relates to group rituals where being included may be an issue, but I did really like the techniques she spoke about and will be implementing some of them myself.

I had hoped to see one more talk, but sadly the one I went to I ended up leaving halfway through as it just wasn’t keeping my attention span at all. At this point I was exhausted and still had my 2 hour journey to do, so another year without catching any of the music! But really that isn’t what Witchfest is about for me.

Witchfest for me is all about new experiences, hearing new opinions, being in a community. I think this year was my favourite so far, the workshops were practical and I learned lots of new things. of course I’ll be back again next year!

To The Earthkeepers

It’s time to make a stand

Time to protect our land

Defend our planet

pay off our environmental debt

Care for every living thing

or one day we will no longer hear the birds sing

Tread gently with care

before we rip her resources bare

Get up because you’ve been called

When you see abuse of her or her creatures, speak up and be bold

This is our fate

Stand up and be counted before it’s too late

There is no Plan B

If we destroy our home, there will be more than just a fee

Let us unite and work together

we won’t stop ever

to bring love, peace, harmony and beauty back

Trust, Hope and Kindness is what we’ll pack

We are the Earthkeepers

Look a little deeper

and you will see

It’s our destiny

Time to stand proud and be loud

This Earth is ours

let’s take care of her as she does of us

let’s take care of each other

after all, we are as one

then we might just change the world

One step at a time

we can bring the world back to it’s prime

Earthkeepers, stand up and take your place.

AHO!

Final Thoughts on Goddess Project

artemis1 Persephone-greek-mythology-33433547-2331-2315 pele sophia

So the four weeks of Goddess project are finished! It’s gone by in a flash but before I sum it up, here are the final journeys from Artemis Week.

Wednesday: She said about the importance of remembering your connection to everything- each other, nature and animals. How it’s important to help the vulnerable. Be a combination of strong and compassionate. She then told me I am in a position to empower others. She guided me to run a Goddess workshop in the near future- so watch this space!

Thursday- she spoke of the importance of determination, and the phrases ‘practice makes perfect’ and ‘if you don’t succeed try and try again’ are very true.

Today- She spoke about how she is a contradiction, but then so is everyone. A happy person is sometimes sad. A funny person is sometimes serious. We all have a darker side. She said when we experience this side of ourselves, to acknowledge it but to remember this is only an emotion we are experiencing not who we are. Who we are is not defined by how we feel, or what we do, or even our purpose in life. We are defined by the moments in our life that we feel the most heart centred. Once we know what those moments are, we need to work on bringing more of those moments into our lives then we are truly being ourselves. Knowing what those moments are and who we are, can also help us find our purpose.

Overall on Artemis week, I have felt much more focused and have got a lot done.

Doing the Goddess project has been great, each Goddess has been super interesting to learn about and each one gave me very good lessons to learn. It’s helped me reconnect with my paganism again and inspired me in lots of ways. I still have lots to learn about so many other goddesses, but this has given me a good start. My favourite Goddess to work with was probably Artemis and I found Pele the most challenging.

If you work with Goddess energy, which Goddesses do you like to work with and how has she helped you?

Goddess Project: How Artemis Week is Going

artemis1

In this final week of the Goddess project, I am working with Artemis, Goddess of Hunting, Wilderness and Wild Animals.

Artemis has lots of fantastic qualities, so I have been praying to her to help be strong, independent and focused.

My Journeys so far this week:

Sunday- she told me she will help me bring my focus back and achieve my goals. She said in order to do this, I need to not worry about things. Just BELIEVE and KNOW that you will achieve. She gave me her bow and arrow to aim at my goal of going to Peru next year, and I couldn’t quite hit the target yet.

Monday- I had the bow and arrow again, this time I had to put all my focus into my goals and hit the targets. I did for each one this time which were- Peru, prosperity, healing clients, a successful workshop (I’m running my first one in September)! and one for my circle- regarding a new venue and expansion of the group. She said again about believing they have already happened and focusing. Again, she said not to worry, they WILL happen, just let go.

Today I tried to channel and got this: Strength is focus. Focus is the key to achieving your goals. Aim high, use your bow and arrow, make it yours. Be independent enough not to rely on others to do it for you, you are in charge of your destiny, no one else. Be a spiritual warrior, who chases the rainbow. Speak when you need to speak and even more importantly be silent when you need to be silent. Silence helps bring focus. At least five minutes of silence and stillness a day will bring much clarity to help you achieve your goals.

It’s only been a few days but I feel Artemis is having a strong impact already. I had been losing my focus a bit the last few weeks, but now I feel much more focused and organised.

Goddess Project Week Four: Artemis

artemis1

I can’t believe it’s the final week of my Goddess project! I am ending it with a bang though, as the Goddess I’ve picked for this week is Artemis, and I am super excited to be working with such an amazing Goddess!

Artemis is another Greek Goddess and interestingly is another daughter of Zeus, although with a different mother than Persephone.

Artemis is the Goddess of the hunt, the wilderness and wild animals. She is also very much about protection and strength. She appears to be a contradiction, as she is a Goddess of hunting, but she also protects animals. I personally think the hunting part is more an aspect of her personality, she aims for what she wants in life and goes out and gets them!

While reading about her today I felt a strong affinity with Artemis. She is a very feminist Goddess, who also particularly protects women. Apparently as a three year old she made six wishes which were:

. to be allowed to live without having to be distracted by love and marriage,
~ a bow and arrow just like her brother’s,
~ a hunting costume and freedom from having to dress up like a lady,
~ the job of bringing light into the world,
~sixty young nymphs to be her companions and to help care for her hunting dogs, and
~all the mountains on the earth to live on.

She is also a Goddess of childbirth, the moon and a ‘bringer of light’ and is all about courage.

I am looking forward to working with her powerful energy this next week!
