Moonlight Phoenix- Divine Feminine Shamanic Witch and Moon Mother

tribalme

For those who haven’t been following my blog long or maybe don’t know about me and my healing work.

I am Moonlight Phoenix. I started my path as a pagan as a teenager, dipping my toes into anything that caught my eye, crystals, candles, yoga, astrology, but the main place I began was with Witchcraft. I have been an eclectic solitary witch since I was about fourteen. So basically I mix different traditions rather than working with just one. As a witch I live with the cycles of nature and the moon. I choose to celebrate the pagan wheel of the year rather than the traditional year calender, so I honour celebrations of the seasons, for instance I celebrate Winter Solstice rather than Christmas.

Over the years I have experimented and worked with various spiritual modalities. My two main paths now asides from my witchy side, are Shamanism and the Divine Feminine. I initially learnt about shamanism from my partner but it was a while after being together that I stepped into the path fully. I worked with a general spiritual work with shamanic leanings for a year, then later I completed a Shamanic Foundation Course and then went onto the Shamanic Medicine Wheel, both of which my husband Miguel da Silva teaches alongside Gareth Hughes. We work with the medicine wheel based on Peruvian teachings with a modern slant added for our western world. I have completed the South, which is about releasing the past and now I am walking on the path of the West which is about overcoming fear and stepping into your power.

My Divine Feminine work stems from my witchcraft, as through witchcraft I began to form a relationship with the Goddess, rather than just the masculine God. In Witchcraft, you believe in both sides to Divinity, but it was being able to relate to a Goddess that really attracted me. I found myself drawn to women’s spiritual work, like running women’s circles and womb healing. So along the way I got initiated as a Moon Mother in November 2016 and then initiated as a level 2 in June 2018.  This means I am able to give personal womb healings, blessings, female soul healing and The Gift for Men.

The healings and work I offer:

Womb Healing- Womb healing is a gentle nourishing healing for women that helps bring balance to the female archetypes of maiden, mother, enchantress and crone, which we experience through our menstrual cycles but also in daily life. Some of my clients have said this healing has helped them to resolve womb related issues as well as bringing peace and tranquillity.

Female Soul Healing- is an extension of the womb healing, as it includes all the above but also works on your heart and your soul. So balance also to other areas of your life.

Womb Blessing- an attunement that helps you to release patterns and old emotions that are stopping you from becoming your full authentic powerful self. It puts you in a 28 day rebirth after receiving the blessing to bring healing and empowerment.

The Gift- a gift of Divine Feminine energy but for men. Bringing balance, calm and connection. Also helping you to step into your true powerful self.

Crystal Healing- a gentle, relaxing healing for all. Connecting with the stone people and the natural elements. Cleansing, balancing and calming. I also include a guided meditation in my sessions.

Munay Ki- nine rites of power, Munay Ki means ‘Love Energy’. The rites connect you to beautiful energies as well as bringing protection and strengthening your inner wisdom.

Shamanic Healing- shamanic healing comes in many forms depending on what you need at the time- this could be in the form of journeying, healing using feathers and other natural objects, offerings and more.

This work is offered in East London, UK

The Inevitable End of Year/New Year Post 2018/2019!

First a look back to how this year has been for me:

Music of 2018

Still not really very important for me this year so there’s nothing of real note to add here. I switched to Youtube Music instead of Spotify (due to my phone’s lack of space). We went to 2gigs- a Pink Floyd Tribute and  Garbage-

we’ll make it three tonight as we’re going to see a Kiss Tribute in Camden!

Books

I read a little more this year (23 compared to 16 last year) The highlights have been: The Guilty Feminist by Deborah Frances- White (despite the slightly offputting title it was a pleasant surprise with a constructive look at intersectional feminism and interviews with people across the spectrum of colour, disability and gender identity). The Gaia Effect by Claire Buss, Witch by Lisa Lister, The Optimised Woman by Miranda Gray and Moon Mysteries by Nao Simms.

Films and TV

I have a feeling I did go to the cinema once but I forgot what it was! This year I’ve carried on enjoying Black Mirror (have you seen the latest one, it’s epic)!, Dr Who, Midnight in Texas and New Girl. Recently I watched Trainspotting 2 (which was okay), Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (pretty good) and how could I forget the new darker reboot of Sabrina the teenage Witch???

Moments/Things I did in 2018

Carried on going to Red Tent Rayleigh where I made new friends, tried new things (like different types of dancing) and also made a friend who also became my life coach and got me into ecstatic dance!

Carried on for a while with the Canewdon Witchy Circle but it wasn’t for me so I didn’t go for the entire year.

Gave up on Red Tent Hackney Wick but started a new small women’s circle in Southend which was lovely

Went to events with other shamans- one called Richard Down and a Siberian Shaman called Ladamira.

I went to shadow another South 1 but also had more of my own learnings come up during the process/

Hosted a joint fire ceremony with a friend

Did much more Moon Mother work, and finally went to Glastonbury to do my Level 2! The training was magical anyway but also Glastonbury awoken my vision as I had a spiritual rebirth on the tor and a visitation from Mary Magdalene and Brigid. I had a big process afterwards as the work was so powerful alongside my Medicine Wheel work that I had a bit of an emotional breakdown but once it passed, I felt so much better!

Helped with a Munay Ki

Finally did South Part 2 and started my epic journey of doing the case studies which really empowered me and healed me as well, then a few months later moved onto the West of the Medicine Wheel

Moved! Not just a little move but finally to London!

There was a lot of manifestation this year, a lot of healing (some very deep and some painful) and my connection to the Goddess strengthened in a way I wouldn’t have dreamed possible!

My words for 2018 were Love, Prosperity and Energy and there was plenty of all those things!  I intended to advance my healing work- I moved on in both Moon Mother work and Medicine Wheel work

2019

Instead of choosing three words for 2019 I chose a word using book divination, my word for the year is:  VESSEL- I commit to making myself a sacred vessel to bring the Goddess to others and a vessel of love, opening my heart to others and myself.

I set some of my intentions back on Samhain but here are a few more I have for 2019:

I intend to be more aware of my privilege as a white cis female and vow to be the best ally I can to others.

I intend to speak up more about causes that matter to me in various ways.

I intend to follow the 5 agreements as best as I can- to be impeccable with my word, to not make assumptions, not take anything personally, to always do my best and to be skeptical but learn to listen.

AHO!

Witches New Year 2018

Slightly delayed post this year but with good reason, I’ve moved house!

Long term regular readers will know that as I am pagan, October 31st is extra special  to me as it’s the season of Samhain, which is all about honouring the ancestors but is also Witches New Year! So I set my main intentions for the year in October and then usually add a few more on January 1st. It’s been an amazing year with some big ups and some bigs downs. I carried on with my Shamanic medicine wheel training, I have now moved onto the West of the medicine wheel which is about facing your fears and stepping into your power, I did my Moon Mother Level 2 in Glastonbury (at last, I went)!and had some amazing experiences there which really heightened my connection to the Goddess. I had a big spiritual rebirth there which did lead me to having a bit of an emotional breakdown, but once I got through it I felt sooo much better! I went to Red Tent Rayleigh regularly which was brilliant, did ecstatic dance and for a while went to a witchy circle as well. It ended with us moving, as we moved on 1st November, what divine timing! We had intended to move to London for quite some time and it has finally happened. We now live near Canning Town in a houseshare with 4 other people and we are loving it so far.

The goals I had set for last year were:

to be empowered in all areas of my life- did feel quite empowered through doing my medicine wheel training and also when I went to Glastonbury as it was the first time I went away on my own and sorted out my own travel and my own air bnb etc.

to be more visible- as mentioned I went to a few groups etc regularly which made a massive difference, especially Red Tent as through that I made some new friends, had new experiences, started going to ecstatic dance and had sessions with a life coach.

to create new beginnings- yes! Right at end, we moved to a whole other county!

to let go more and allow flow into my life- eventually! after having the breakdown I finally let of writing so many lists and putting so much pressure on myself, and look what’s happened since!

My intentions for this new wheel of the year are

1. To build up my reputation as a healer, so I can head in the direction of being able to be self employed. Hopefully by moving to London this will be much more possible now.#

2. To start a new women’s circle in London

3. To do my Moon Mother Level 3 in Ireland in July.

4. To spend more time with people I love and doing things I love

Look back at October 17 and now Witches New Year!

My usual end of the year combined post!

First to look back at how the Witchy month of October has been for me.

Focus for the year: Divine Feminine/Balance/Happiness- carried on with all the Divine Feminine work I’ve been doing and did a few social things that made me happy 🙂

Goals/Intentions:

cook more- cooking once a week at moment, usually a chilli but also did a casserole recently too

to have new experiences/visit new places- did a Goddess Yoga Kundalini class and also tried Goddess Qi Gong, did my first Munay Ki Part 3 and it was beautiful

Step fully into my role as a healer- Munay Ki giving and one Womb healing (as part of an exchange)

activism- none 😦

better at birthdays- none

finish my lists- a little

update on giving up the pill- last cycle was 31 days so a lot better than the previous one! Think I am starting to recognise when I’m ovulating but still learning as it really helps to know how your body works!

make more time for creativity- not lots, but I did write a blog yesterday which was flowing through me…

to live to my cycle and educate others- just the usual stuff really.

what else I got up to-Went to the Goddess circle and made a Samhain Wreath! (with lots of help),Red Tent, this time held by Sarah, only 1 person turned up again 😦  went to a local MBS fair, I didn’t buy anything but I heard part of a talk about veganism, took part in a kirtan and tried Goddess Qi Gong invented by my friend Stella. Went to see my friend Sherry and her animals..and went to a Vegan and Yoga festival on the Sunday just gone, did Goddess Kundalini Yoga, got a pink salt tealight holder and some vegan baked goods. Saw quite a few friends I hadn’t seen for ages at both events.

So as regular readers will know, I am pagan so today is extra special to me as it is Witches New Year! The last year has been good but challenging. I’ve been really working with shamanic energy with the courses I’ve been attending which has been amazing and powerful, but I’ve also been a lot less social and not seen as many of my “regular” friends. There has been a lot of struggle, and more death, as we lost both our cats over the past year, I also lost two uncles. I did a lot of retreat work! I did do a lot of healing work for others to start with but that has dwindled again but the focus has mostly been on myself. I became a Moon Mother and I also started on the Shamanic Medicine Wheel.

So my new intentions for this new Wheel of the Year (more will come in January as they always do, but for now I will start with these)

  1. To be empowered in all areas of my life
  2. To be more visible (start attending more events, seeing people, but also doing the things I want to do, being louder and being SEEN)
  3. To create new beginnings (a new home and a new job are calling so that’s where I need to start)
  4. To learn to let go more and allow more flow into my life

This month so far, what it looks like right now is: attend Red Tent Rayleigh, go to Goddess circle, go to a social of the South students, a week running the shop, and possibly more events but let’s see where FLOW takes me 😉

Honouring the Enchantress at Samhain

When it comes to Divine Feminine/Goddess energy, we often talk about the triple Goddess- Maiden, Mother and Crone. But in reality there are four aspects to the Divine Feminine. The aspect that often gets ignored and left out, is the third element (Crone being the fourth) is that of the Enchantress or Wild Woman.

Why is she left out?

Society is scared of her.

The Enchantress is powerful and full of great wisdom. She is the creatrix.

So why are we scared of her? She shows us our shadow. She shows us our triggers and makes us aware of what we need to release. This can be a scary process. We don’t always want to acknowledge our wounds.

The Goddess aspects also occur in a woman’s menstrual cycle. Unsurprisingly, the Enchantress represents the pre menstrual time. A very difficult time for many women as ‘negative’ emotions come up like anger, frustration or even sadness. This is the Enchantress bringing up those emotions so we can recognise our triggers and learn to deal with them, and release them during the crone phase (menstrual cycle) during the Crone phase, we can release those triggers as we can now understand them and accept them.

I have found the Enchantress challenging. I found her the most difficult aspect to embrace. I didn’t like that I would be impatient and get angry, anger has always been a difficult emotion for me to accept.

With time I am now starting to fully embrace my Enchantress and know the true magic she holds.

The Enchantress is a creatrix.

The Enchantress is a witch.

She is intuition and divine connection. She holds the keys to healing ourselves.

The Enchantress is daring.

She is challenging but empowering.

The Enchantress knows no boundaries. She only speaks the truth.

The Enchantress dares. She creates. She is a divine yet forgotten part of Shakti.

At this time the veil is growing thin, let us acknowledge the Enchantress in us all, whether female or male, the Enchantress in the Earth.

She is Autumn, both dark yet colourful at the same time.

I will no longer be scared of my inner darkness and allow the Enchantress to speak, to help me to create, to listen to my inner wisdom.

I urge you to do the same.

Vishwa Shakti Avaham…

A look back on 2016 and a look forward to 2017

In 2015 I was a bit early in posting this post, and now I’m late posting 2016. The truth is I have lots of blogs I need to write at the moment, but this is the first chance I’ve had and felt okay to do it. The last week of 2016 and the first week of 2017 have not been good to me. The light is starting to slowly coming back but the last two weeks have been really hard, and for the first time in a long time I’ve not been okay. We had to have one of our cats put to sleep so it started with grief which then morphed into a deep depression and even anger. I felt really alone. However I am now ready to admit I was in a bad place and now is time I can pick myself up again, as the only one who can really do this is me. I have to accept things won’t always be good but they won’t always be bad either. Life is slowly on the up again and one thing I can do to help me is write! So I will slowly start to catch up on my blogs again, as I have lots to say.

let’s start with a look back on 2016..

Music

still not as prominent as it has been in the past, I don’t think I made it to any gigs this year apart from one local one- seeing my friend Ruth’s band T Bitch at their Halloween show at the Railway Hotel, which was really awesome! (it involved one member arriving in a coffin and me standing on a chair in order to see)!

I didn’t buy any new music in 2016 although I did listen to Spotify a lot and tried to diversify my listening a bit by keeping an eye on new releases and checking out their recommended playlists. I don’t think I can really pinpoint anything new in this area.

Books

I set my challenge on Good Reads to read 50 books again, but I still didn’t quite reach it, I think I read 45 or 46 so I have set it for 47 this time.

I think the best books I read were at the end of the year after my Moon Mother training. I read both Red Moon and Female Energy Awakening by Miranda Gray (who trained me). They are about women’s cycles and how to live in harmony with them. They are helping me to change my life! But I will talk more on this in another blog, but I highly recommend them to all women!

Films and TV

I didn’t see any films at the cinema this year. I’m sure I must have watched some good films but I can’t recall any!

TV Wise- Humans was still very good and Black Mirror. Also enjoyed more nature documentaries like Planet Earth.

Photos/Moments/Things I did in 2016

attempted to write a poem a day, which was half successful as a lot of days I didn’t feel inspired by the prompts in the book I was working with!

Passed my Advanced product advisor test for work

Went to see Vampires Rock!

Took part in the first round of the ‘associate of the year’ for work

went to my first Buddhist ceremony

did a meditation workshop at the EDEN conference

Poetry reading at an allotment day twice

Went to Holland

took part in ’30 Days Wild’ in June

helped out at Tower Hill Sanctuary on my birthday

attended 3 Pig Save Vigils

became the supervisor for the Rayleigh store

held my first fire ceremony

went to Whitstable beach in kent

went to a sheep sanctuary

Restarted the Munay ki

went to the Retreat animal sanctuary

became a Moon Mother

went to Portugal

walked the Saffron Walden labrinyth

held my first worldwide womb blessing group, started giving womb healings

did healing at a shamanic weekend

Miguel surprised me with a shamanic wedding blessing ceremony

took part in a free hugs weekend

the most popular blogs I wrote in 2016

  1. 2016 Focus and Intentions
  2. dancing barefoot may 16
  3. Essex Pig save
  4. belated post: april poems for #shewritespoetry2016
  5. 30 Days Wild Week 2 (and a bit)

how I did with my goals and intentions in 2016:

learn more about nature- nature was a big theme of 2016 so a big fat yes. 30 days wild in June really helped too!

heighten my spiritual related work- yes although not in the way I hoped, still didn’t have regular clients (mostly I had none) but I did healing work at a retreat weekend and also can now more healings as I became a Moon Mother so can now do Womb Healings and Blessings, in addition to crystal healing.

get to Peru- not yet!

honour seasons and moon more fully- not to the extent I would have liked.

cook more- nope!

go to yoga classes- yes! apart from when I had the change of jobs and couldn’t go, I have been to a lot of classes in 2016.

walk more often- beginning part of the year yes but once changed job location not so much as no longer walking distance!

better self care- I think overall I was better at resting when I needed to, and I also went to the dentist, the optician and had my well overdue smear test

not to be affected by other people’s stories/no expectations- better with no expectations but still can be very affected by other people’s stories.

harness manifestation- yes, I went from a part time to a full time job and managed to manifest a lot of the ideas I had for my women’s circle this year too.

my focus was: Knowledge, health, magic and self care. I think there was a lot of all those things!

Now finally to move forward to 2017. (a week into it, lol)

My Focus this year is: Balance, Happiness, Divine Feminine

My intentions for this year (including those I set back in October on the witches new year)

  1. To Cook more- carrying this one over as I would like to do more with this when I can
  2. to have new experiences and visit new places
  3. to do more of what makes me happy
  4. to step fully into my role as a healer – reworded as still important to me. I love doing the healing work but I need people to come to me to heal!
  5. To do more activism again -would be great to fit in where I can for causes I feel passionate about
  6. be better at birthdays- I’ve had this before too, last year partly because of lack of money part of the year I wasn’t very good at it. This year I’d like to be more organised and thoughtful
  7. finish my lists!- I am a list hoarder and that won’t ever change. However I have lists on my phone with stuff that’s been on there for ages (things to buy etc) so I want to start getting rid of those things!
  8. Give up the Pill- I’ve been on the pill for about 18 years, I’ll go into this on my blog about womb healing/cycles more but now is the time to come off and change contraception method.I’ve got 3 months left so I will use those first, and that gives me time to explore my options
  9. Live to my cycle and educate others- as I’ve already briefly mentioned (and will go deeper in another post) I’ve been learning more about women’s cycles and it is really helping me to understand myself and other women better. I want to be able to live with this cyclic nature in mind. I also want to help other women to understand the nature of their cycle
  10. make more time for creativity- whatever that is- writing, colouring, collaging…just time to create, even if just for myself.

October 2016 and Witches New Year (looking back then forward again)

Okay so let’s start with how the year ended for me..how did October go?

My key words for the year: Knowledge, health, magic and self care. With regards to health and self care, I have been able to start attending yoga again, and I also went to my dentist 6 month check up.

My goals/Intentions

To heighten my spiritual work- no clients 😦

To get to Peru- nope

To honour seasons and moon more fully- I did my usual things on New moon and full moon, and I think I did celebrate Samhain fully. I got to wear fancy dress at work, I went to a Halloween themed gig, hosted my women’s circle on the night, and today went to visit my nan’s grave and I’ve also done my big reading for the year ahead

To cook more- nope

to go to Yoga classes- went to 3 classes this month, yay!

walk more often- still been doing longer walks on days off

not to be effected by other people’s stories/no expectations- think I’ve mostly been okay with this

manifestation skills- can’t think of anything specific

What I got up to

I went to an open day at a local yoga studio, I got to try a sample ‘anti aging’ class which I didn’t really like as it was far too energetic for Yoga, it even involved star jumps! I also tried a meditation session (relaxing) and a drumming and chanting session which was great, saw lots of friends there too which was nice.

I went to visit my friend Sherry and meet her newest additions- two adorable kittens! 🙂

I went along to the Munay Ki part one workshop Miguel ran in London because I’ve decided to try again with Munay Ki, as I didn’t feel I was getting the full benefit of it despite receiving it over a year ago, but it was when Miguel was first doing it and was all in one go. So hopefully this time I can integrate the rites better and get more out of it.

Went to see my friend’s band ‘T Bitch‘ at the Railway Hotel for Halloween and they were awesome!

Poems

Making Love to the Moon

Oh beautiful moon
Odd, how you make my heart go boom
Of all the sights
You open my mind to new heights
Your gentle glow reminds me every thing’s okay
You inspire me with what to say
On a full moon night
I’m guided by your light
We flow together like the ocean and it’s tides
Knowing each phase brings out our different sides
We are one
Knowing our cycle is never truly done
Full and Flowing
to Dark and Knowing
not everyone can understand
This connection we have
goes beyond sharing a solar system
With us, there is truly no distance.

Autumn

I almost saw you change
from green to orange
orange to brown
falling to the ground
time to let go of what once was
time to go within and see what’s inside
feel what my ancestors have to say
dive deep and reveal
the diamonds in the dark
show me your pain
as the sunshine turns to rain
this is the beginning of the end
Now is the time for us to mend.

So as a pagan, that’s another year ended for me. Overall I think the past 12 months have been pretty good. I got a promotion in my job and I’ve had a few exciting day trips and a holiday to The Hague. I didn’t manage to get any regular healing clients still or go to Peru, but I did go to Yoga quite a bit (I couldn’t for a while because of overtime) and walked loads before I moved job location and I achieved the manifestation as I got a promotion and Migs now has a lot more work, we are managing a lot better now. I’ve also managed to manifest ideas I had for my women’s circle into being like the fire ceremony and the day trip to Whitstable. I did set other goals in January but I will keep those going until the new calendar year as I usually do.

So my intentions I’ve set (for now) for the following year are:

  1. To step fully into my role as a healer- so this is one of my goals of last year reworded as this is still important to me. I love to do my healing work but I’m not getting much chance to practice it at the moment! This month I am adding another string to my bow by becoming a Moon Mother, so I’ll be able to also offer womb blessings and Divine Feminine Awakening healings. I hope that will help me get some more work. I will try better this year now things have settled more with my new role to promote the other work I do.
  2. To have new experiences and visit new places- I love adventures and I think more will be possible now! There’s so many places I’d like to visit and things I’d like to do so rather than name all those, I’m putting this intent out there to see where it leads me…
  3. To do more Activism- I used to do a lot more activism and I have been doing a bit more again this year but not as much as I’d like so I would like to try and get more active again for the many causes I care about.#
  4. To do more of what makes me happy- there has been some months where I’ve not seemed to do much other than work, eat, sleep, food shopping and I don’t want that! Life is for living after all!

Radar Love- July 2016

Wow, this year is going to fast, can’t believe we are in August already! (and the sky outside today isn’t convincing me either) So time for another update of what I’ve been up to, July was a good month. But first how I did with my goals and intentions for the year..

KNOWLEDGE- since I got the nature finder app during 30 Days wild in June, I’ve been identifying wildlife and flowers regularly, I love it!

HEALTH- not been so good this month, as I started working in Rayleigh in July, I can’t walk to work anymore. I’ve done a few walks but not as much.

MAGIC- nothing specific I can think of

SELF CARE- I’m adapting to full time hours again, so haven’t been always been keeping to plans I’ve made because of tiredness.

To heighten my spiritual work- had one client, and also did some free readings on our business page on the full moon as it’s good practice.

To get to Peru- not there yet!

To honour the seasons and the moon- did usual new moon and full moon things. Lammas is today but I went to a ritual for it on Saturday.

To cook more- still haven’t!

go to Yoga classes- didn’t go to any in July, my work hours at the moment haven’t allowed me to 😦

walk more often- got less as mentioned before

not to be affected by other people’s stories- been ok with this I think

have no expectations- mostly ok with this too

manifestation skills- started my promotion a week earlier than planned!

WHAT I GOT UP TO

I had a belated birthday party as a lot of people couldn’t come on my actual birthday and Migs was away that weekend. I had a rainbow/80’s theme, there was only a few of us but it was really fun, we did 80s karaoke!  We were all completely sober too, lol!

I went to a Southend Vegans (a facebook group I’m on) meet up at The Railway Hotel, met some lovely new people but also knew a lot of people there too and everyone was super nice.

Started my job at Rayleigh a week earlier than planned as they were so desperate for staff! So it was all very sudden! I had to move a few plans about, as I now work Saturdays instead of Sundays.

I had a leaving drinks meet up (a week after I left because of all the sudden-ness of it) It was a fun night

I had my circle but as I had to move the day, there was only two of us. It was still nice though as we went to Priory Park and the theme was nature. It was a really warm day too.

I went to a poetry day at a community allotment my friend Fiona is involved with. It was another beautiful day spent with friends and nature.

I went to a Lammas ritual hosted by members of the local pagan moot I occasionally attend.

Busier month and I’m excited about this month too- got a fire ceremony tonight, away at the weekend, wedding anniversary coming up and other fun things too- yay 🙂

POEMS

my poems everyday for a year thing isn’t going great, I didn’t write any I was happy with or even bits of poems last month but I think I had a few this month so will put them here..haven’t felt inspired by the prompts lately.

Poem 1- Apology

I’d like to apologise on behalf of the human race

That we’re destroying the planet at an incredible pace

I’m so sorry for all the trees chopped down

All the pollution gives me a frown

I’m so sorry that there is animal abuse

and I’m sorry people’s ethics are so loose

I’d like to apologise on behalf of the human race

before the world disappears without a trace…

Poem 2- Reasons to be happy (unfinished)

Because the sun is shining today

because ultimately it will all be okay

Because worrying is a waste of time

Because I’m making the effort to make this rhyme

Because the birds are singing a beautiful song

Because it’s better than focusing on what’s wrong..

Poem 3 (unfinished)

Why are you alone?

Do you wish to be on your own?

Or are you lonely, staring out to sea?

I’m here contemplating life’s journey

Shall I row on or shall I stop and admire the view?

Poem 4

She fell into a forest
Head first, into the trees
for miles she could see
an everlasting trail
of what could ever be
fragile existence of life
untouched yet disturbed
by humanity’s deep disgrace
a truth we must learn to face
by looking within
only then will we know our deepest sin

30 Days Wild Week 3

Day 17

On day 17, I tried to identify bird song. I could hear plenty of it but couldn’t see what birds were making it! The only ones I did identify were the easy ones that I could see which were crows and ducks! I put a video on Instagram and a friend managed to identify a blue tit, black bird, collared dove and sparrows.

Day 18

For day 18, I went to the Southend Animal Aid meeting for the first time in years so it was a day of ‘wild’ planning. I’m going to help at an animal sanctuary this weekend and next week going to a vigil for slaughterhouse pigs.

Day 19

DSC_0053_2

On day 19, I watched a bumblebee. I watched as it flew flower to flower pollinating. I found interesting that it was ignoring all the daisies, but going to all the white clover instead. (another flower I now know the name of- yay)!

Day 20

DSC_0057_1

Day 20 was a special day as it was the Summer Solstice AND the full moon! So I did some moon watching. Too difficult to get a good photo of though.

Day 21

DSC_0002Yesterday I re-did my altar as I always do for the seasons but this time I turned into a full ‘nature table’ with lots of treasures I have found in the wild- feathers, shells, conkers etc. And one of my nan’s paintings as the backdrop.

Day 22

IMG_20160622_193002

Today I was given some seed bombs, so I’ve put one on our balcony so we can see it grow, and I will plant the other along the brook.

dancing barefoot..May 2016

Time for another month completion post, this year is sure passing by quickly!

FOCUS AND INTENTIONS UPDATE

KNOWLEDGE (focus on nature)- nothing specific really

HEALTH- been overall healthy I think

MAGIC- still haven’t done much focus on this

SELF CARE- resting when I need to still, and also booked and went for my smear test, as last time I kept forgetting to book it.

To heighten my spiritual work- no clients for the month, have been promoting my upcoming Goddess workshop as much as possible.

To get to Peru- still a long way off (for now)

To honour the seasons and moon- In addition to the full moon and new moon, there was Beltane, but I didn’t really do anything special for it sadly

To cook more- still nope

go to Yoga classes-only got to one during May 😦 holiday, work etc all got in the way.

walk more often- been walking every day to work still

not to be affected by other people’s stories- thinking I’m starting to get the hang of this more 🙂

have no expectations- need to work on this a bit more

manifestation skills- still lots of reading, meditation etc

WHAT I GOT UP TO

Went on Holiday! We went to Holland for four days. It was great, it deserved it’s own blog post, which you can read here

Went to a play (well not really a play but not sure how else to describe it) with my friend Fiona called ‘Three Acres and a Cow‘ it was a history of land activism told through storytelling, poetry and folk music. It was very interesting and I learnt lots.

I had my circle which in May was on the theme of ‘Desire’ it was another small but lovely one 🙂

It ended with a night in with my friend Fiona watching a documentary called ‘Girl Rising‘ about girls over the world who overcome great challenges to gain an education. Available on Netflix if you have it

so still working quite a bit but at least I had a holiday! Things calming down a bit work wise and lots of social things coming up so June looks to be a good one 🙂

POETRY- here’s any poems/bits of poems I managed for the #shewritespoetry2016 challenge! (writing a poem every day this year using a book of prompts) at some point I’ll make time to work on them further, finish some and give some of the prompts another go.

Poem 1

The daffodil hill

is better than any pill

to make me smile

even when I feel bottom of the pile

the sight of a tulip is my top tip

for a floral lift

when you’ve had a rift

a bluebell

always makes me feel well

a snowdrop

makes me want to hop

(unfinished)

Poem 2

Acceptance is beauty

life is fine

when you’re sea calm

we all have dream variations

some of us will see the snake and some of us will see a bouquet

listen to that jukebox love song

don’t be afraid of a cultural exchange

be open to what’s in front of you

listen with your heart not your head

be who you want to be

and live the life you dreamed.

poem 3

Awake

Believing

Consuming

Dreams

Enveloping

Fascinating

Growing

Holding

In your Mind

Just

Keep

Loving

More

Never be afraid to

Open your heart

Pay attention

Quell those fears

Remember who you are

Swim against the tides

Undo the pain you once felt

Very releasing

When you learn to let go

X Ray your soul

You are beautiful

now it’s time to dream…zzzzz

Poem 4

Fade into light

second sight

delving into night.

Poem 5

The willow tree is slowly waving to the rhythm of the wind

Children walk past undoing their school ties

then piling onto buses

the sky is still light but there’s a sense of the day coming to an end

clock watching at work is driving you round the bend

a good time for a cup of tea

look out the window at those going past

and wonder when hometime will arrive at last

(unfinished- I think)!
